Skills of Critical Thinking


                 Critical thinking is the process of analyzing and evaluating information in a logical and systematic way, in order to make informed and reasoned decisions.In a multitude of situations, including school, the workplace, and daily life, critical thinking is a valuable talent. Better decisions, more complicated problem solving, and more effective communication can all be aided by it. It is especially crucial in professions like science, medicine, law, and business where decisions must be carefully thought out and take a number of different factors into consideration.

 There are four main characteristics of critical thinking,

  • Active Listening 
  • Curiosity
  • Self-Discipline
  • Humility


     1. Active Listning 

Giving the speaker your undivided attention and showing that you care about what they have to say are both components of the communication method known as active listening. It necessitates that the listener concentrate on the speaker's message, pay attention to their facial expressions, and react with understanding. A good communicator must have this quality.


     2. Curiosity 

Curiosity in communication refers to a desire to learn more about another person, their ideas, and their experiences. It involves asking questions, seeking information, and being open to others.In general, curiosity in communication involves a desire to learn, a wish to understand people, and an openness to fresh viewpoints. It is a crucial component of effective communication and can result in deeper and more rewarding relationships with other people.


     3. Self - Decipline  

Self decipline pllays a key role in because to interact effectively with others, one must have the self-control to restrain their ideas, behaviors, and emotions. It entails being aware of one's communication style, speaking with intention, acting with respect for others and never should jump into cnclutions without a proper understaning.

     4. Humanity

The ability to relate to people on a more profound level by showing compassion, and understanding is referred to as humanity in communication. It entails treating people with respect and kindness while recognizing that they are fellow humans with their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences. A humble person should always have the abillity to forgive anyone without hesitation and also uderstand his mistakes. 


  • We have done a group activity to assess the solutions that we can provide to the Sri Lankan Cricket Board to improve the quality of cricket.

There are number of key reasons that have resulted the current downfall of cricket. Both the players consistency and dedication are lacking. In certain instances, the cricket board has lost sight of the players' wellbeing in favor of financial gain. The development of professional players is further limited by a lack of infrastructure amenities. The demise of Sri Lankan cricket is a result of unnecessary government participation and the players' careless behavior.

Here are some recommendations we can make to improve Sri Lankan cricket. When disseminating news, the media and social media should act more responsibly. Government involvement is needed in the development of infrastructure, rules and regulations, and training regimens to develop professional players and standardize Sri Lankan cricket. Additionally, measures to improve the players' physical and mental health should be taken.
